What do you think holds a relationship, making it last even longer? Do you think love is really enough in a relationship?

If you think so, then what’s your definition of love in a relationship?

What’s your definition of love in a relationship?

When you’re asked to give your definition of love in a relationship, such a question can sound stupid or make you confuse. Especially when it was asked by your lover.

Love isn’t really enough in a relationship.

Love is just one of the pillars or essentials of a good relationship.

Why isn’t love enough in a relationship?

Love is a connection that exists between two persons. It’s not necessarily mutual but based on sacrifices, selflessness, care, communication, and a sense of appreciation.

Love understands, love is accommodating the imperfection of your lover and seeking the very best for them.

Love is the feeling of knowing that someone out there cares for you, the feeling of being loved.

Love is putting someone’s else needs before yours, doing anything for them no matter what.

Love is what makes us who we are and makes us who we want to become.

Are all this content of love really enough to sustain a relationship?

Of course not.

Relationships need more than just love.

Love is simply the basics to establish a relationship.

Love alone can’t sustain a relationship.

What then is enough in a relationship if not love alone?

Is Love Really Enough In A Relationship?

To have a great relationship, three factors which are the pillars of great relationships mustn’t be found wanting.

  • Love
  • Trust
  • Commitment

Love in Relationship

Love in a relationship ceases to be love when it lacks care, attention, respect, understanding, humility, sacrifice, and support.

All these are the actions that make you feel the presence of love.

When they are missing, it seems like love never existed.

Trust in Relationship

Trust is vital in all relationships. When your relationship lacks trust, it begins to suffer.

A relationship having a trust issue, forces partners to keep secrets.

And keeping secrets limits proper communication which makes understanding difficult.

Understanding is one form of action by love, once lacking, your relationship gets hurt and you will begin to feel bored.

Being in a relationship with someone you don’t trust, means causing yourself more mental injury.

It’s frustrating and with lots of stress.

Your peace will continue to be on vacation if you don’t trust your partner.

Commitment in relationship

Just as trust supplement love in a relationship, commitment is that factor which puts efforts to ensure the relationship works.

Once you’re committed to a relationship, fixing relationship problems become easier.

Love and trust don’t make us committed to a relationship alone.

Commitment comes from within.

It’s when you make that decision within you to put all effort to ensure your relationship is successful.

It’s a decision to remain steadfast amidst all distractions.

Once you become more committed, your level of love and trust raises, nourishing your relationship.
